When we are in school the children follow a schedule. I am going to email you our schedule if you would like to see how we use to do things. Children this age need some sort of routine, so it would be a good idea to make a schedule that would work for you and your child at home.
When we have circle time after breakfast we always sing the good morning song, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0o79IMmAYE. )
do the pledge, talk about what day it is, the weather, and what is going on for the day.
Todays activities will focus on how our bodies move. Practice moving slowly and quickly. How would a rabbit move? How about a turtle? Think about how different animals move.
Read a book about moving (if you don't have any there are some good websites I can share with you that has free books)
Practice a new self-care skill. Work on zippering, putting on their own socks and shoes or anything that your child needs help with.
Here are some questions that will help your child continue to learn and grow: General Open Ended; -
How did you..? -What would happen if...? -What do you think about...? -In what way...? -Tell me about...? -What would you do...? -How can we...? -How did you...? -What do you suppose...?
I will be sending out an email with a special treat for the children, I recorded myself reading a book to them. I hope you all enjoy it!
On a side note I have been noticing on Facebook people all over Staten Island making rainbows as a sign of hope and to spread some positivity. I thought it would be a good idea for the children to make a rainbow today and send me a picture of it. I would like to share our rainbows on Facebook and show that positivity can spread even quicker than this virus!
